Mr S.D. Gilbert got his first degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa and joined to Colombo Dockyard PLC (CDPLC) as a Trainee Engineer in 1995. He has successfully completed various local and overseas programs and training related to the shipbuilding industry, “Shipbuilding and quality management systems’’ training program conducted by JICA in 2000 , “Project Management “program conducted by National University of Singapore (NUS) and Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management at University of Moratuwa.
During his career at CDPLC over 27years, he has held positions as Special Project Manager (SPM), Assistant General Manager (Special Projects) and gave his contribution for special shipbuilding projects before appointed as the General Manager at Dockyard General Engineering Services PVT (DGES).
